The Wildcats will host a series of events this week to show their appreciation to their fans in advance of the 2012 season.

Chanting, quot;Save our coach,quot; players, parents and alumni from Granada Hills Kennedy held a rally in front of the campus Monday morning in support of longtime baseball Coach Manny Alvarado, who is facing a three-week suspension without pay following an alleged hazing incident last November involving two members of his baseball team who engaged in a fight.

Alex Paluka, 24, a 2005 graduate of Franklin Regional, launched his own nonprofit organization, The Cure Baseball, with the intent of raising money through college baseball to support cancer research and those stricken with cancer.  read more »

The Rice baseball team, ranked as high as No. 6 in the country in one national preseason poll, held its first practice of 2012 at Reckling Park on Friday (Jan. 27). Rice head coach Wayne Graham welcomed back 22 returning lettermen from last season#39;s squad that went 42-21, won the Conference USA tournament championship, and hosted a home Regional in the NCAA Tournament.

The University of Notre Dame baseball program#39;s 11th annual Meet The Team will be held in Club Naimoli of Purcell Pavilion on Tuesday, Feb. 7. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. ET.
